if we’re categorizing modesty as a series of absolutes then here’s a statement for you:

my body is not a modest body

if we’re maintaining that modesty is about how men view us,

then I can never be modest

no matter what I’m wearing

men used to lust after wooden table legs, so at this point you really have to ask yourself

if you're being a stumbling block

or if you're a stumbling block any way you slice it

if we’re done categorizing modesty by absolutes

if we’re done making arbitrary rules for one another

if we’re done thinking solely about how other people view us instead of what makes us comfortable

and if we’re done thrusting the useless label of sex on a women’s natural curves

then here’s a statement for you:

modesty is not a state of the body

it is a state of the mind

everyone is responsible for their own thoughts

and no one else’s
